The University of Jordan Explores Collaboration with Global Firm EY and Hosts a Workshop on Tax Auditing

The School of Business at the University of Jordan met today with Mr. Mohammad Al-Louzi, a partner at the global firm EY, to discuss potential areas of collaboration aimed at supporting Accounting Department students. The discussion focused on sharing professional experiences and insights from the labor market, in line with the university’s efforts to enhance students’ skills and knowledge.

During the meeting, both parties discussed opportunities for collaboration in practical training and the development of joint programs aimed at enhancing students’ skills and preparing them for the job market. They also explored the possibility of organizing specialized workshops in accounting and auditing. The discussion emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership between the School of Business and global companies to create a modern and dynamic learning environment. This initiative aligns with the university’s ongoing efforts to build strong connections with leading professional institutions and to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world practice.

At the end of the meeting, Al-Louzi delivered a lecture to accounting students on the role of auditing in the field of taxation. He highlighted the key practical challenges auditors face and the essential skills needed to excel in this vital sector. The session saw strong engagement from the students, who showed great interest in the nature of the profession and asked insightful questions that reflected their awareness of its challenges.

Dr. Fuad Kreishan, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Business, expressed his appreciation to EY for this initiative, which aligns with the college’s vision of strengthening collaboration with private-sector employers to support students’ educational journey. He emphasized the importance of empowering students to actively engage and contribute to both the local and regional job markets.

Notably, Al-Louzi is a 2008 graduate of the Accounting Department at the Faculty of Business. He joined EY in 2010 and has over fifteen years of experience supporting both local and multinational clients in meeting their tax obligations in Jordan and Iraq. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA, JCPA), he specializes in tax and accounting compliance, financial reporting, and tax dispute resolution.
