Professor Samer Al-Dahiyat, Dean of the School of Business at the University of Jordan, honored students Lin Al-Sheikh and Bara’a Hammad from the School in recognition of their achievement in winning first and third place respectively at the “JoPACC Fintech Rally 2025: Universities Edition.” The competition was organized by the Jordan Payments and Clearing Company (JoPACC) and featured the participation of 30 teams representing 11 Jordanian universities.
The recognition took place during a special gathering at the School, attended by Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani, Assistant Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, along with several faculty members and students who participated in the Hackathon.
Student Lin Al-Sheikh secured first place as part of the “Finovate” team, which presented an innovative idea that combines digital inheritance distribution with a smart wallet system, integrating multiple bank accounts into a unified application to simplify financial management.
Meanwhile, student Bara’a Hammad won third place as a member of the “Finity” team, which developed the “Tap It” application—an easy and fast money transfer solution that utilizes Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.
Both teams collaborated with their peers from the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology, under the supervision of a distinguished group of faculty members at the University.
During the gathering, special recognition was given to student Mohammad Hamdan from the School of Business, a member of the third-place team in the hackathon. He and his team presented a competitive entrepreneurial idea, contributing to a proud representation of both the School and the University.
During the gathering, Dr. Samer Al-Dahiyat praised the students for their outstanding performance and active participation, highlighting how it reflects the capabilities of the School of Business students in entrepreneurship and innovation. He emphasized the College’s commitment to supporting and empowering young talents, helping them excel in both national and international competitions.
He also commended the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship for mentoring the students and providing technical guidance, particularly recognizing the efforts of Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani in supervising and guiding the teams throughout the hackaton.
This recognition comes as part of the School of Business’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of innovation and promote entrepreneurship as a core element of its educational framework. The College seeks to connect academic knowledge with practical application while creating an inspiring environment that encourages students to develop and launch outstanding ideas and initiatives.
