The University of Jordan (UJ) Accreditation and Quality Assurance Center held a training workshop today on Operations Management as part of its continuous efforts to enhance institutional performance and promote a culture of quality and excellence.

The workshop was conducted by the Vice Dean of the School of Business for Administrative Affairs and Development, Prof. Abdel-Hakim Akhoershaideh, and attended by a group of UJ’s academic and administrative staff.

Key topics included the theoretical and practical foundations of operations management, documentation and analysis of institutional procedures, and tools for measuring and improving operations. The workshop also emphasised the importance of continuous improvement and quality assurance in academic and administrative services.

Concluding the event, participants underscored the importance of integrating operations management into the university’s strategic planning and institutional development framework as a fundamental element in achieving UJ’s vision for greater competitiveness and leadership at the national and regional levels.

Under the patronage and participation of the Dean of the School of Business at the University of Jordan, Professor Dr. Samer Dahiyat, the Department of Business Management at the School of Business organized the BUSINESS CONNECT 2025 event to welcome new students to the Department of Business Management and introduce them to the history, establishment, mission, vision, strategic goals, and achievements of the School, in addition to the opportunities provided by the University, the School, and the Department to students during their university studies.

The event also included a presentation of all information, guidance, and advice related to the Business Management major and the department's academic programs, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. It provided an overview of the Bachelor of Business Management program and its learning outcomes. Furthermore, the importance and role of the academic advisor within the department were clarified, and a detailed explanation of the major's Guidance Plan and its significance in guiding students toward enrolling in recommended course levels each semester was presented. The event also featured inspiring presentations from Faculty members and current students, as well as testimonials from distinguished graduates of the Bachelor of Business Management program.

The ceremony included a welcoming and guiding speech by the Dean of the School of Business, Professor Dr. Samer Dahiyat, who emphasized the school’s focus on instilling and sustaining a culture that focuses on Excellence at all levels: locally, regionally and globally. He also reiterated the School’s strategic commitment to maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence in learning, teaching and scientific research and making a tangible societal impact, as well as focusing on developing the skills of all Faculty members, administrators and students and expanding their horizons and knowledge. This becomes especially important since the School has obtained the prestigious international accreditation “Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business” (AACSB) for all its academic programs, and its specializations have achieved advanced rankings in the QS World University Rankings By Subject 2025, where it ranked 151-200 in Accounting & Finance, 201-250 in Business & Management Studies and 501-550 in Economics & Econometrics.

Dean Dahiyat also noted that the school is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee this year, marking 60 years since its founding in 1965. He highlighted the school's pivotal role in graduating generations of influential leaders who have enriched Jordan and the region with distinguished talent across various economic sectors, making a positive impact. He emphasized that this aspect is a fundamental component of the school's strategic vision and mission. The Dean also stressed the importance of student participation in academic and extracurricular activities and taking advantage of the guidance and mentorship opportunities available to them throughout their studies.

The event also introduced Faculty members of the Business Management Department, giving students the opportunity to meet the professors who will be accompanying them on their academic journey. An overview of the Faculty members' areas of expertise was also presented, along with valuable advice for new students aimed at enhancing their university experience.
For his part, Professor Dr. Bader Obaidat, who is a senior Faculty member at the Department, stressed the importance of the continuous pursuit of self-development, emphasizing ambitious thinking, following good role models, and practicing self-motivation in order to achieve aspirations and goals and build a successful future.
Dr. Rima Al-Hassan, Assistant Dean for Quality and Local Accreditation and a Faculty member at the department, gave a presentation on the department's academic programs and the curriculum for the Bachelor's program. She covered the main topics of the courses and the intended learning outcomes. Dr. Al-Hassan emphasized that the program focuses on developing students' creative and entrepreneurial skills and preparing them for the job market by bridging theoretical and practical aspects. She also provided an overview of the students' academic path and the skills they will acquire during their studies.

Following this, Dr. Alaa Al-Azzam, the Bachelor's program academic advisor at the Department, spoke about the role of academic advising in supporting students. She explained how to help students choose appropriate courses, understand graduation requirements, and improve their academic performance. She also emphasized the importance of ongoing communication with School members to benefit from their expertise, and outlined mechanisms for supporting academically struggling students and encouraging high-achieving students to engage in research and academic activities.

The event also featured inspiring presentations from program alumni and current students, who shared their experiences and advice with the new students. Graduates Aya Fakhoury, Omar Darbashi, Mays Al-Harini, and Nour Al-Maayeh spoke about the impact of their studies at the University of Jordan on their career paths, emphasizing the importance of participating in volunteer activities and academic competitions, as well as academic exchange programs (Erasmus+), in developing their personalities and preparing them for the job market.

Students Lara Najm and Amir Muneizel also offered practical and motivational advice to their peers, highlighting the importance of volunteer work and participation in extracurricular activities both on and off campus, and making the most of the resources provided by the college and university to support their personal and professional development.

The event also included an interactive orientation session on university facilities, presented by Dr. Lana Matar and Dr. Roxana Al-Hunaity. This session included introductions to the library, the Admissions and Registration Unit, the Deanship of Student Affairs, and other vital university facilities, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and positive interaction among the participants. The session concluded with the Dean of the School honoring the student and graduate speakers and thanking them for their contributions and for sharing their experiences with the new students.

​Two distinguished scholars from the University of Jordan (UJ) were honored with the inaugural Mulham Award for Knowledge and Learning during the first edition of the Mulham Summit in Amman, held under the patronage of Minister of Youth Raed Al-Adwan.

Dr. Sumaya Daoud from the School of Foreign Languages received the award in the Education and Knowledge category in recognition of her mentoring initiatives and her knowledge-based content that supports university students, particularly young women aspiring to pursue graduate studies. Her work has been instrumental in developing research and academic planning skills while inspiring confidence in future educational and professional pathways.

Dr. Dana Qaqish from the School of Business was recognized in the Marketing category for her impactful professional content in the field of marketing and her role in raising awareness at both local and regional levels.

Both scholars expressed pride in receiving the award, describing it as a strong incentive to continue their academic and research contributions and to create meaningful content that serves students and the wider community while showcasing the University of Jordan’s standing.

The Mulham Award is the first of its kind in Jordan, celebrating creators whose digital content leaves a genuine and lasting impact on society, particularly on professional platforms such as LinkedIn, moving beyond the traditional metrics of numbers and followers.

Organized by Vibes Events, the Mulham Summit brought together more than 350 participants including content creators, institutions, and youth initiatives, highlighting stories of success and innovation while fostering a culture of recognition and knowledge sharing across the country.

The University of Jordan (UJ) Distinguished Researcher Award for the academic year 2024/2025 has been conferred upon two members of the academic staff in recognition of their exceptional research contributions.

Based on the decision of the Deans’ Council, Prof. Yasmin Zuhair Murad from the School of Engineering received the award in the field of scientific disciplines, while Prof. Ra’ed “Mohammad Taisir” Masa’deh from the School of Business received the award in the field of humanities.

The School of Business at the University of Jordan met today with Mr. Mohammad Al-Louzi, a partner at the global firm EY, to discuss potential areas of collaboration aimed at supporting Accounting Department students. The discussion focused on sharing professional experiences and insights from the labor market, in line with the university’s efforts to enhance students’ skills and knowledge.

During the meeting, both parties discussed opportunities for collaboration in practical training and the development of joint programs aimed at enhancing students’ skills and preparing them for the job market. They also explored the possibility of organizing specialized workshops in accounting and auditing. The discussion emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership between the School of Business and global companies to create a modern and dynamic learning environment. This initiative aligns with the university’s ongoing efforts to build strong connections with leading professional institutions and to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world practice.

At the end of the meeting, Al-Louzi delivered a lecture to accounting students on the role of auditing in the field of taxation. He highlighted the key practical challenges auditors face and the essential skills needed to excel in this vital sector. The session saw strong engagement from the students, who showed great interest in the nature of the profession and asked insightful questions that reflected their awareness of its challenges.

Dr. Fuad Kreishan, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Business, expressed his appreciation to EY for this initiative, which aligns with the college’s vision of strengthening collaboration with private-sector employers to support students’ educational journey. He emphasized the importance of empowering students to actively engage and contribute to both the local and regional job markets.

Notably, Al-Louzi is a 2008 graduate of the Accounting Department at the Faculty of Business. He joined EY in 2010 and has over fifteen years of experience supporting both local and multinational clients in meeting their tax obligations in Jordan and Iraq. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA, JCPA), he specializes in tax and accounting compliance, financial reporting, and tax dispute resolution.

Professor Samer Al-Dahiyat, Dean of the School of Business at the University of Jordan, honored students Lin Al-Sheikh and Bara’a Hammad from the School in recognition of their achievement in winning first and third place respectively at the “JoPACC Fintech Rally 2025: Universities Edition.” The competition was organized by the Jordan Payments and Clearing Company (JoPACC) and featured the participation of 30 teams representing 11 Jordanian universities.

The recognition took place during a special gathering at the School, attended by Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani, Assistant Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, along with several faculty members and students who participated in the Hackathon.

Student Lin Al-Sheikh secured first place as part of the “Finovate” team, which presented an innovative idea that combines digital inheritance distribution with a smart wallet system, integrating multiple bank accounts into a unified application to simplify financial management.

Meanwhile, student Bara’a Hammad won third place as a member of the “Finity” team, which developed the “Tap It” application—an easy and fast money transfer solution that utilizes Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.

Both teams collaborated with their peers from the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology, under the supervision of a distinguished group of faculty members at the University.
During the gathering, special recognition was given to student Mohammad Hamdan from the School of Business, a member of the third-place team in the hackathon. He and his team presented a competitive entrepreneurial idea, contributing to a proud representation of both the School and the University.
During the gathering, Dr. Samer Al-Dahiyat praised the students for their outstanding performance and active participation, highlighting how it reflects the capabilities of the School of Business students in entrepreneurship and innovation. He emphasized the College’s commitment to supporting and empowering young talents, helping them excel in both national and international competitions.

He also commended the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship for mentoring the students and providing technical guidance, particularly recognizing the efforts of Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani in supervising and guiding the teams throughout the hackaton.
This recognition comes as part of the School of Business’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of innovation and promote entrepreneurship as a core element of its educational framework. The University of Jordan (UJ) ranked first nationally and within the 251 - 300 band globally in the QS Global MBA Rankings 2026, one of the world’s most prestigious Rankings for Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs.

The ranking draws on key indicators such as employability, return on investment, alumni outcomes, leadership, and diversity.

This marks the first time UJ has been included in this global list, which is broadly regarded as one of the most influential and significant benchmarks worldwide, alongside those of the Financial Times and The Economist rankings.

The Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching at the University of Jordan (UJ) held a series of specialised training workshops on Wednesday, targeting faculty and administrative staff from various schools across the university.

The first workshop, titled “Language Proficiency in Official Correspondence: Theory and Practice,” was delivered by Prof. Sumaya Al-Shawabkeh, Professor of Modern Arabic Literature and Criticism at the School of Arts. The session explored the importance of precision and professionalism in official administrative language, emphasising its role as a reflection of the institution’s identity and credibility.

Al-Shawabkeh highlighted the need for accurate orthographic practices, addressing issues such as the correct use of hamza, spelling additions and omissions, distinctions between alif and soft alif, and the differences among tied taa, open taa, and haa. She also discussed common spelling issues in administrative writing and provided practical solutions to recurring errors.

To enhance participants’ linguistic awareness, she presented real-life examples of language mistakes found in official documents and public advertisements, offering applied analysis of administrative memos, directives, and internal correspondence.

The second workshop, titled “Student Assessment,” was presented by Prof. Bader Y. Obeidat from the School of Business. It explored fundamental principles of student assessment, including its general purpose, types, tools, and design strategies. He highlighted essential questions regarding the goals of academic evaluation and clarified the slight differences between measurement, evaluation, and assessment, as well as their connections to learning outcomes and academic achievement.

Obeidat emphasised that effective assessment should be grounded in scientific tools and established educational models, such as Bloom’s Taxonomy and the Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) Matrix. He called for the development of inclusive and equitable assessment tools that respect learners’ diverse needs and abilities.

In the third workshop, titled “Teaching Methodologies,” Obeidat introduced key pedagogical concepts, types and classifications of instructional methods, and practical strategies for their application. He also critically examined current teaching practices and suggested pathways for enhancement and innovation.

The three workshops featured dynamic engagement and meaningful dialogue, reflecting the participants’ commitment to improving their academic and professional practices through evidence-based strategies.

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Director of Public Security Directorate, Major General Dr. Obaidallah Maaytah, Professor Dr. Ra’ed Masa’deh Bani Yaseen, the principal investigator of the international research group on information systems for knowledge economy from the School of Business at the University of Jordan, participated in the 1st International Conference entitled "Crisis Management in a Dynamic and Complex Environment", which was held at the Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II Academy for Civil Protection in Amman, Jordan, during the period from April 28-29, 2025. Dean of the Academy, Dr. Reda Al Batoush, emphasized that the specialized international conference aimed to exchange ideas and information on crisis management in light of the political, economic, social, and technological changes and developments in the digital age. The conference brought together specialized scholars and researchers from around the world with the aim of advancing knowledge related to crisis management.
Professor Bani Yaseen presented a research paper entitled Crisis Management from the experience of the Research Group at the University of Jordan entitled: Information Systems Based on the Knowledge Economy. It is worth noting that this research group is approved by the University of Jordan and under the guidance of His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Dr. Nathir Obeidat, towards activating specialized research groups that serve national and international research priorities in various disciplines. In the discussion session, which was chaired and managed by the president of the Economic and Social Council of Jordan Professor Dr. Musa Shteiwi, Professor Bani Yaseen informed the audience about the vision and mechanism of the research group’s work and the latest scientific developments in the field of crisis management to build knowledge management systems and collaboration tools that enable individuals and institutions to exchange knowledge, build smarter systems that improve operations in various sectors, and manage data to support innovation.  
The researchers also presented a set of recommendations, most notably the development of comprehensive knowledge management systems capable of efficiently collecting, analyzing, and disseminating information. They also included the use of information systems to enable seamless data exchange and coordination among government agencies, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, and international bodies. They also included the deployment of decision support systems based on big data, artificial intelligence, and predictive analytics. In addition to building of a resilient digital infrastructure and the establishment of policies and incentives for continuous knowledge sharing within and across institutions to ensure institutional memory and learning from previous crises. They also included the use of cloud computing and mobile platforms to ensure access to systems and information, the implementation of robust cybersecurity measures, and clear data governance frameworks. They also incorporated regular training of employees on the use of information systems tools for crisis management and decision-making, and efforts to ensure that information systems development is aligned with national policies for risk management and disaster response. It is worth noting that Professor Bani Yaseen served as Dean of the School of Business and Assistant President of the University of Jordan, Aqaba Branch, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University College for Innovation, and the former Dean of the School of Business at the University of Jordan in Amman. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Jordanian Journal of Business Administration, which is affiliated with the Scientific Research and Innovation Support Fund of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The University of Jordan (UJ) has significantly strengthened its global academic presence, advancing in the QS World University Rankings by Subject for 2025, one of the most influential rankings evaluating academic programs worldwide, published annually by the QS organization. 

UJ is now ranked in 25 specialized fields, an increase of six from the previous year.  It also improved its rankings in 16 ranked subjects and across all five broad subject areas, reflecting the enhanced quality of its academic and research programs.

These results displayed UJ's unprecedented progress in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Computer Science and Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Tourism, Education, Library and Information Science, Business, and Languages.

In the globally ranked broad subject areas, UJ made significant progress. Engineering and Technology rose to 150th place globally, compared to 253rd in 2024. Social Sciences and Management Studies climbed to 155th globally, up from 227th. Arts and Humanities moved to 190th, up from 347th. Life Sciences and Medicine improved to 284th, previously ranked in the 401-450 range, while Natural Sciences advanced to the 401-450 range from 501-550.

The university achieved significant milestones in the subject rankings, with one of its programs listed among the top 50 universities globally, four subjects in the top 100, nine subjects in the top 200, 17 subjects in the top 300, 19 subjects in the top 400, and 23 subjects in the top 500 universities worldwide.

Specifically, within Arts and Humanities, UJ ranked 217th globally in Linguistics, 231st in English Language, and 289th in Modern Languages. In Social Sciences and Management, it achieved 83rd in Library and Information Science, 119th in Tourism, 147th in Education and Developmental Studies (a new entry), and 367th in Law (also a new entry). In Business subjects, the university ranked 185th in Accounting and Finance, 234th in Business and Management, and 505th in Economics.

In the Engineering and Technology fields, Computer Science and Information Systems ranked 100th globally, up from 149th. Civil Engineering ranked 229th, Electrical and Electronic Engineering 232nd, Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing 291st, and Chemical Engineering entered the ranking at 398th.

In Life Sciences and Medicine fields, UJ's Nursing program ranked 47th globally, advancing from the 51-100 range. Pharmacy and Pharmacology ranked 100th, while Medicine improved to 285th. Life Sciences ranked 481st, and Agriculture 429th.

In Natural Sciences, Mathematics rose to 119th globally from last year's 201-250 range. Chemistry improved its ranking to 439th. Environmental Sciences and Physics entered the global rankings for the first time, with 500th and 601st positions, respectively.

UJ President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, expressed pride in this achievement, emphasizing its reflection of the university's commitment to academic and research excellence and its strategic vision for international prominence. He stressed that this progress resulted from ongoing efforts to develop educational programs, encourage scientific research and innovation, and create a supportive academic environment for faculty members and students.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject rely on five key criteria: academic reputation, employer reputation, citation per published paper in the subject, global research collaboration, and the H-index citation measure.

This achievement reflects the continued strengthening of UJ's position as a leading academic institution, regionally and globally, enhancing its international competitiveness and focusing on excellence in research, education, and sustainable development.

In its pursuit of excellence and global distinction, the School of Business, represented by Dean Professor Dr. Samer Dahiyat, prioritizes faculty engagement in international conferences and activities. Reflecting this commitment, Dr. Rima Wahid Al Hasan, Assistant Professor in Operations and Innovation Management and Assistant Dean for Quality and Local Accreditation affairs at the Business School, participated in the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) 2024 held in Washington, D.C., USA. These annual meetings bring together global economic leaders, academics, and activists to discuss key global issues ranging from sustainable development to enhancing economic resilience.

As an academic in the field of innovation and operations management, Dr. Al Hasan joined sessions that examined the enablers and barriers to innovation. These sessions included discussions led by experts across sectors to explore solutions for bridging the “missing middle" between idea and implementation—a stage where many entrepreneurs, innovators, and researchers encounter challenges in transforming ideas into reality. Discussions highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration, practical support for early-stage entrepreneurs, and the need to enhance flexible infrastructure to drive economic growth. Additionally, Dr. Al Hasan's participation included attending sessions on “green jobs" and youth employment opportunities, with discussions focused on promoting the green economy and creating environmentally friendly job opportunities for young people, supporting the transition toward a sustainable future.

In addition to representing the university, Dr. Al Hasan attended in her volunteer capacity with AlphaZULU Advocates, a UK-based non-profit organization that focuses on advancing the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) worldwide. Her volunteer role with AlphaZULU Advocates primarily on SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). Dr. Al Hasan represents AlphaZULU's efforts in fostering innovative practices and entrepreneurship to achieve positive economic, social, and environmental impact in the region and in Jordan.

The Dean of the Business School, Professor Dr. Samer Dahiyat, emphasized that faculty engagement in global initiatives strengthens the school's academic reputation, supports the achievement of its strategic objectives, and elevates its standing in international rankings.

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Samer Dahiyat, Dean of the Business School, and in the presence of the school's faculty members and a large number of students, the Accounting Department organized an orientation day for new accounting students on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. The Dean welcomed the incoming students, expressing his pleasure at meeting them and reaffirming that they are a key focus of the college's efforts, which are dedicated to enhancing both their academic knowledge and practical skills. He also highlighted the college's achievement of global AACSB accreditation and noted that the university is ranked 368th globally on the QS World University Rankings.


Dr. Omar Mowafi, Head of the Accounting Department, provided an overview of the event, emphasizing that it is an annual tradition within the department. He explained that the orientation day reflects the department's commitment to the development of students’ skills, which are vital in shaping their professional identities and preparing them for the job market. Dr. Batoul Abdeldaim also presented the updated curriculum, outlining significant revisions, particularly in areas related to technology and professional practice within the accounting field.

The event featured presentations by distinguished alumni, including His Excellency Dr. Radi Al-Hamadeen, President of the Audit Bureau, who shared the Bureau's strategic plan and led a discussion on the key skills required by accountants in the modern job market. Additionally, Mr. Ahmad Al-Ajlouni, an expert in auditing and a senior professional at one of the world’s largest auditing firms, spoke about his university experience, the importance of engaging with the curriculum, and the value of obtaining the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification in Jordan. He also provided insights on how students can leverage their university education to enhance their career prospects.

The orientation day concluded with the Dean recognizing and honoring the distinguished guests for their contributions to the event.

Under the patronage of the Dean of the School of Business, Prof. Dr. Samer Dahiyat, the Finance Department organized its 6th open day on Tuesday, 10/29/2024. The Dean welcomed the department's students, expressing his pleasure to meet them and stressing that they are the focus of attention of the school as it strives to stimulate their knowledge and skills on both the academic and practical levels. He also explained to the students the school's tireless endeavor to raise the quality of learning, teaching, research and training methods in a manner consistent with the requirements of the local and global labor market, and that the result of this effort has culminated in the school's various programs obtaining international accreditation from the AACSB.

In turn, the Head of the Finance Department, Prof. Dr. Ghada Tayem, pointed out that the open day, an annual tradition in the Finance Department, is organized by the department's students which reflects the department's vision of building and expanding student capacities and skills. Dr. Muhammad Tayeh also spoke about the department's annual participation in the Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) Challenge and the importance of participating in this competition that equips students with the practical skills necessary for the job market.

The participating students started with Muhammad Hamdan who gave an overview of the finance major, followed by Ghaith Alhabahbeh who introduced information on the professional certificates related to the finance major. Nour Alzaghoul and Lujain Ramadan also reviewed the job fields available to finance graduates. Followed by the co-leaders of the group Nabieha Alkhatatbeh and Bayan Joudeh, alongside the recent graduate Nibal Tuffaha, presented their experiences in competing in the CFA Challenge and the impact of this experience on their understanding and application of their finance major. Aya Ramadan explained the procedures for applying for the Erasmus Student Exchange Scholarships and the expected benefits of the study abroad experience.

The open day welcomed Mr. Suhaib Al-Tal (Treasury & Investment Director at Arab Potash Company), a graduate from the Finance Department, who spoke about the importance of obtaining professional certificates specialized in finance. Mr. Abdallah Tuwaiqat (the Chief Information Officer at Jordan Payments & Clearing Company JoPACC) spoke on behalf of Ms. Maha Albahou (the CEO at Jordan Payments & Clearing Company JoPACC) about the importance of financial technology and the changes it has brought about in the financial sector. The speakers' contributions raised many questions from the audience, which were moderated by the master of ceremony, Ibrahim Sandouka, with the support of his colleague Ahmed Alshalabi.

At the end of the event, the Dean of the School distributed certificates of appreciation to the event organizers and participants.

Over several weeks, from late May to early June, the School of Business at the University of Jordan (UJ) conducted 14 informative training sessions and seminars. Honorary and adjunct professors were invited to share their expertise with faculty members.

The sessions covered a broad spectrum of topics within the business domain, reflecting the field's diverse and evolving nature. The primary goal was to enhance the faculty's research skills and knowledge, ensuring they remain at the forefront of academic and practical advancements in business.

One of the key sessions, titled: “Synergize: Exploring Research Collaboration Ideas & Opportunities”, delivered by the honorary professor Prof. Viswanath Venkatesh from Virginia Tech India, USA, focused on fostering collaborative research efforts and exploring new opportunities for joint studies. The Future of Work session with Prof. Venkatesh addressed emerging trends and challenges in the evolving workplace landscape. In his participation at the IBDE 2024 conference, Prof. Venkatesh delivered a session titled “Mix Your Methods for Increased Quality, Impact, And Publishability”, in which he stressed the importance of considering multiple data collection methods (both Qualitative and Quantitative methods) to conduct impactful research.

Another significant session, “Structural Equation Modeling using AMOS”, conducted by Adjunct Professor Mohammad Nural Allam from Tabuk University, KSA, provided attendees with advanced techniques in structural equation modelling.

A notable session on Hybrid Work Leadership, delivered by the honorary Prof. Karin Sanders from The University of New South Wales, Australia, explored balancing employees' and managers' hybrid work preferences. Another impactful session by Prof. Sanders, titled: “HRM Content and Process”, discussed the effects and antecedents of HRM system strength, offering deep insights into human resource management.

Faculty members also benefited from a lecture on “Publishing in ABS 3 & 4 Stars Journals”, a session led by Honorary Professor Jim Haslam from Durham University, UK, where they learned strategies for publishing in high-impact academic journals. The integration of advanced technology was highlighted in the “Integration of Gen AI Tools in HE Curriculum” seminar, delivered by Adjunct Professor Nisreen Ameen from Royal Holloway, University of London, UK, where participants explored how to incorporate generative AI tools into higher education curricula.

To further enhance their research capabilities, attendees were introduced to “New Developments in Quantitative Survey Research” in a session delivered by Honorary Prof. Ramayah Thurasamy from Universiti Sains Malaysia, covering cutting-edge techniques and methodologies in survey research. A session on “Writing for Reputable and Top-Tier Journals”, delivered by Prof. Garry Tan Han from University College Sedaya International, Malaysia and Prof. Ra’ed Masa’deh Bani Yaseen, the dean of the school, focused on the nuances of writing for and getting published in top-tier academic journals.

Practical training was provided in the session on “Structural Equation Modeling Using SmartPLS4: A Hands-on Approach”, delivered by Prof. Ramayah Thurasamy, where faculty members received hands-on experience with SmartPLS4 for structural equation modelling. Additionally, Dr. Nisreen Ameen's presentation, “Beyond Automation: AI's Real-World Impact on Marketing, Businesses, and Communities,” delved into AI's broader impacts beyond automation, emphasizing its role in marketing and community development.

Furthermore, the importance of teamwork and collaboration was emphasized in the “The Importance of Collaborative Research Groups” session led by Adjunct Prof. Allam Hamdan from Ahlia University, Bahrain. This session highlighted the benefits of collaborative research and encouraged networking among faculty members. Lastly, a session on “Best Practices of Book Editing and Journals Publishing”, also delivered by Prof. Allam, equipped faculty members with best practices in editing and publishing, ensuring high-quality academic outputs.

Dean of the School of Business, Prof. Ra’ed Masa’deh Bani Yaseen, highlighted the School's commitment to continuous development and excellence in education. He emphasized that these training sessions are part of an ongoing effort to ensure faculty members are well-prepared to educate the next generation of business leaders. These sessions also open up avenues for collaboration between honorary and adjunct professors and the school's faculty members.

Dr. Rima Al Hasan, Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance, explained that these sessions are part of the school’s annual seminar and webinar plan for 2023-2024. She noted that they contribute to achieving the University's strategic and executive plan and align with the school's focus on improving the quality of research and education.​

As a part of the annual training program for faculty members at the School of Business at the University of Jordan, the school conducted an online seminar on Digitalization and open educational resources. The seminar featured Dr. Khalaf Al-Tell, Associate Professor
And Director of Special Projects at the Modern college of business and science in Oman.

The session covered various topics exploring the significance of digitalization in education and the utilization of open educational resources within higher learning institutions. Attendees gained insights into various types and real-world examples of open educational resources, alongside an examination of copyright considerations and best practices when integrating these resources into curricula.
The Dean of the School of Business, Prof. Raed Masadeh Bani Yaseen emphasized the institution's commitment to remaining up-to-date with contemporary teaching methodologies. He underscored the pivotal role of technology in enhancing students' learning experiences and expanding educational possibilities. 
In her turn, the assistant dean for quality assurance affairs Dr. Rima Al Hasan, stressed the timeliness and relevance of the seminar. She highlighted its significance within the context of the school's ongoing efforts to refine its programs and curricula in alignment with current market demands.
In closing, the Dean expressed gratitude to Dr. Al-Tell for sharing his expertise and enriching the professional development of the faculty members at the University of Jordan.

As a part of the annual training program for faculty members at the School of Business at the University of Jordan, the school conducted a seminar on Publishing Qualitative Research in Business and Management Journals. The seminar featured Prof. Emmanuella Plakoyiannaki, Professor in International Business at the School of Business at the University of Vienna in Austria, an associate editor at the British Journal of Management, and a senior editor at Management and Organization Review. The session was conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams, focusing on the nuances of publishing qualitative research in the domains of business and management. And attended by faculty members from the School of Business as well as various faculties across the university, including the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology, the Faculty of Educational Sciences, the Faculty of Sharia, the Center of Excellence for Learning and Teaching, and the Center for Women's Studies, 
The seminar commenced with an overview of the seminar agenda. It underscored the significance of qualitative research methods in both academic and professional spheres, emphasizing their role in enriching scholarly contributions and knowledge enhancement. 
The speaker addressed common challenges and queries associated with publishing qualitative research, offering practical suggestions for overcoming them. This encompassed guidance on the importance of selecting suitable journals, and understanding their scope, audience, and editorial inclinations. Additionally, strategies for effectively responding to reviewers' comments and refining qualitative research were discussed. A concise overview of building scientific theories from qualitative data was also provided, emphasizing that there is no specific model or approach in presenting qualitative research findings. It was emphasized that this depends on the research question and the philosophical paradigm employed by the researcher. 
Representing the School’s Dean, Dr. Ashraf Bani Mohammad, the Vice Dean for Graduate Studies at the School of Business, welcomed the guest speaker, emphasizing the significance of the seminar in developing the skills of faculty members at the school. He noted that the seminar aligns with the school’s and university's vision of producing high-quality scientific research. 
In turn, Dr. Rima Wahid Al-Hasan, the Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance, highlighted the importance of qualitative research in contributing to impactful scientific research, affirming the school’s commitment to hosting experts from reputable universities and institutions worldwide as part of its faculty training program. This program covers various topics aimed at enhancing capabilities in scientific research, innovation, sustainable development, learning, and teaching. 
During the seminar, the speaker addressed questions from faculty members in attendance. In conclusion, the Vice Dean thanked the guest speaker for sharing her expertise with the faculty members at the University of Jordan.

In a move aimed at ensuring the highest standards of education and quality management, the University of Jordan (UJ) Vice President for Quality, Accreditation and Strategic Planning, Prof. Inaam Khalaf, visited the School of Business with am aim to oversee the implementation of exam procedures and overall quality assurance practices within the school.

During her visit, Khalaf articulated the university's commitment to excellence and high-quality outputs, emphasizing the desire to institutionalize quality management and creating a culture where excellence becomes embedded within the university's work.

In his turn, Dean of the School of Business, Prof. Raed Masadeh Bani Yaseen underscored the importance of upholding rigorous quality standards. The Dean explained how a constant dedication to quality assurance not only aligns with the school's internationalization standards but is also integral to achieving the strategic goals set by the institution.

Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance Affairs, Dr. Rima Al Hasan, presented exam procedures followed at the School, sharing examples of various examination forms samples used at the school, and offering insight into the quality checks conducted across different departments. She also underscored the significance of maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of the school's academic processes.

The meeting witnessed the active participation of department heads, and the Vice and Assistant Dean, fostering an environment of collaboration and shared commitment to academic excellence. This collaborative effort ensures that the entire institution is working on maintaining the highest standards of quality across all academic disciplines.

The School of Business engaged in a series of events during the Global Entrepreneurship Week, spanning from November 12th to 18th, 2023. Collaborating with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the University of Jordan, the school got involved in diverse activities, featuring a compelling Entrepreneurs' Story Sharing Session. Faculty members actively contributed as trainers and evaluators on committees overseeing entrepreneurial projects.

The school's involvement commenced with a dynamic panel discussion, organized by the Office of the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni in the School of Business, titled "Entrepreneurial Stories." The session hosted two entrepreneurial graduates: the visionary artist, Balqis Al-Abbadi, and the graphic designer, Omar Freij. Both entrepreneurs led their unique projects, with Al-Abbadi initiating the "Henna and Art" venture in 2017, seamlessly blending art with heritage. By 2020, she successfully registered her own company. Al-Abbadi's artistic pursuits involve creating expansive heritage paintings using henna and extending her mentorship to girls with special needs. Notably, she has graced various celebrations, including Princess Rajwa Al-Hussein's henna ceremony. Furthermore, Al-Abbadi received a nomination to represent the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the Expo Qatar for the Henna Heritage. Omar Freij, a marketing graduate from the Business School, embarked on his professional journey early on, leveraging his marketing education to enhance his industry knowledge. His notable achievements include designing multiple Snapchat filters for the University of Jordan and other regions in Jordan, amassing an impressive viewership exceeding 50 million.

Parallelly, faculty members from the School of Business actively engaged in diverse events throughout the Global Entrepreneurship Week, collaborating closely with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the University of Jordan. Dr. Rima Al-Hasan, an Assistant Professor specializing in Innovation and Operations Management and serving as the Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance Affairs, played a pivotal role as a jury member in a competition featuring entrepreneurial projects by university students. The competition, organized by the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the University of Jordan, culminated in the selection of two standout projects out of 13 to represent the University of Jordan in a university challenge. Evaluation criteria included a thorough assessment of entrepreneurial opportunities, the authenticity of proposed ideas, utilization of cutting-edge technological developments, and the feasibility of implementing proposed initiatives.

The School of Business extended its engagement in the Global Entrepreneurship Week through a targeted training session titled "How to Prepare Financial Statements," conducted by Dr. Hala Zedan, a faculty member in the Accounting Department and the Assistant Dean for Rankings and International Accreditation. The session delved into financial planning for entrepreneurial projects, encompassing cost and profit calculations, with dedicated segments on various types of expenses and engaging discussions with investors to achieve financial returns.

Additionally, Dr. Dana Kakeesh, a faculty member in the Marketing Department, orchestrated a specialized workshop titled "Enhancing Academic Impact and Building Personal Identity." Aimed at faculty members across disciplines and colleges, the workshop explored effective strategies to elevate academic presence and cultivate scientific and personal identity across diverse platforms. Dr. Dana shared insights from her extensive experience in marketing and social media communication, emphasizing strategies for impactful influence and personal brand building, with a particular focus on LinkedIn and content creation.

Prof. Ra’ed Masa’deh Bani Yaseen, the Dean of the School of Business, underscored the foundational values of "Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship" at the University of Jordan and the Business School. Emphasizing the pivotal role of faculty members, students, and graduates in activities related to innovation and entrepreneurship, he highlighted their contribution to nurturing an entrepreneurial ecosystem on campus. This, in turn, fosters a culture of innovation and creativity, equipping students with the necessary skills for the dynamic job market.

He also emphasized the school's commitment to collaboration with various entities, notably the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the University of Jordan. Their joint efforts aim to realize the strategic goals outlined in the University of Jordan's plan for 2022-2027, focusing on enhancing creative capabilities among students and staff, fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship at the University of Jordan.

The University of Jordan (UJ) School of Business has been awarded the international accreditation of AACSB. The School's 16 bachelors, master's, and doctoral programs are now internationally recognized.

Granted by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), UJ's School of Business is the first business school among public universities to obtain this international accreditation.

UJ President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, said this attainment constitutes an important milestone in the School's history, future, and aims toward internationalization.

Obeidat added that obtaining international accreditations comes as part of the UJ's efforts to build more effective partnerships and advanced standards, noting that obtaining international accreditations enables university graduates to compete in the labor market, locally and globally.

Dean of the School Prof. Ra'ed Masa'deh Bani Yaseen stressed that international accreditation means that the school has the resources, credentials, and commitment to provide a first-class education with a focus on the future, pointing out that only 5% of business schools in the world hold this accreditation.

AACSB International (AACSB) is a global nonprofit association that serves to connect academics with students and the job market and to create a generation of great leaders. Since 1916, it provides quality assurance, business education intelligence, and learning and development services to over 1,900 member organizations and more than 1,000 accredited business schools worldwide.

The Department of Business Management at the School of Business organized a welcoming event for its students on Tuesday 14th of November 2023.  The event commenced with a welcoming speech by the Dean of the School of Business, Prof. Raed Masadeh Bani Yaseen, emphasizing the school's commitment to excellence and internationalization. He articulated the school's dedication to continually enhancing its programs to align with international standards and staying up to date with the market demands, thereby equipping students for prosperous careers.

In his turn, the Head of the Business Management Department, Dr. Motasem Thneibat introduced the faculty members, including their respective fields and research interests. Notably, he underscored the global standing of the business administration specialization at the School of Business, ranked among the top 251-300 worldwide according to the QS ranking. Dr. Thneibat urged students to collaborate and be open to others and make maximum of their study at the school emphasizing that the school is there to provide full support to them.

Dr. Rima Al Hasan, the Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance Affairs and an assistant professor at the department, delivered an illuminating presentation on the department's programs. Covering essential aspects, she elucidated the main courses in the undergraduate program and outlined the intended learning outcomes, emphasizing the competencies expected from program graduates. She also motivated students to invest in self-improvement and make the most of the diverse opportunities available at the university.

Dr. Ala Azzam, an Assistant Professor and the academic counselor at the department. With a keen focus on student support, she explained the advisory study plan and stressed the importance of following it. She also detailed approaches for students to connect with her for inquiries, fostering an environment of academic guidance She generously shared information about the support services available at both the department and the school.

The event also involves presentations from current students at the department who openly shared their university experiences. Zain Aljayyousi and Natasha Al-Bitar, offering invaluable tips on navigating university life, touched upon essential topics such as work-study balance, social intelligence, effective communication, and the transformative role of voluntary work in honing students' skills.

A panel discussion followed, featuring four outstanding department alumni, Petra Assaf, Hana Muheisen, Aya Fakhouri, and Ayat Al-Dumiati. They delved into their individual experiences, shedding light on how the university catalyzed leveraging their skills and abilities. The alumni emphasized the life-changing opportunities that unfolded as a result of their education and offered practical advice on time management. Emphasizing the importance of excelling academically while simultaneously embracing the social aspects of university life.

 At the end of the session, students and alumni were encouraged to maintain connections with the department and the school. Fostering a sense of community and collaboration among all attendees.

​The University of Jordan's School of Business recently welcomed Dr. William Sawaya, an Associate Professor specializing in Supply Chain Management at Bowling Green University in the United States. Dr. Sawaya's visit was centered around a research seminar focused on sustainability practices within supply chains. The visit started with a meeting between Dr. Sawaya and accompanying American students, with the deanship office and department heads at the school of business.

 
Among the highlights of Dr. Sawaya's visit was a presentation for his research paper. During which, he discussed the importance of green supply chains and their role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, especially in the context of the transport sector's contribution to emissions. The research touched on the impact of various modes of transport on reducing carbon emissions, including emerging electric vehicles and the practice of slowing ships at sea. In particular, the study stressed the importance of taking a holistic view of supply chain operations, taking into account economic and environmental perspectives simultaneously.
 
Professor Raed Masadeh Bani Yaseen, the Dean of the School of Business, emphasized the school's commitment to fostering international collaboration and advancing academic development. He underscored the importance of hosting international researchers and organizing scientific seminars as integral components that enrich both academic and cultural experiences. Furthermore, these initiatives offer valuable prospects for cooperation and professional growth for faculty members and students alike, thereby elevating the academic reputation of the university as a whole.
 
The Dean also emphasized that conducting scientific seminars aligns seamlessly with the University of Jordan's strategic and executive plans aimed at enhancing academic and research capabilities.
 
Conversely, Dr. Rima Al-Hasan, the Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance affairs, highlighted the significance of hosting scientific seminars within the school, particularly those addressing crucial subjects like sustainability practices in supply chains. She emphasized that such seminars play an important role in inspiring individuals to initiate new research endeavors while simultaneously ensuring they remain informed about the recent advancements across diverse areas of expertise. In essence, these research seminars offer valuable occasions for faculty members to connect with their peers and experts in various fields.

A delegation of students from the College of Public Administration at the University of Leiden, Netherland visited the Department of Public Administration – School  of Business at the University of Jordan, where they held a meeting with Dr Abdelhakim  Akhorshaideh, the Head of the Department of Public Administration, In the presence of Dr. Waed Al-Shobaki and  Dr. Diana Al-Fayez,  a presentation was made by Dr Akhorshaideh about the Department of Public Administration, in which he explained the vision, mission and objectives of the department within the framework of the vision, mission and objectives of the School  of Business and in line with the vision and strategic objectives of the University of Jordan.

A summary on the department was also presented in terms of its academic programs offered by the department and the preparation of students in these programs and the approved study plans in addition to the future plans aimed at providing the department with academic staff by offering annual scholarships for a number of outstanding students from the department's graduates with the direct guidance and support of the university presidency, and Follow-up of the school of business deanship.

 Then, a dialogue took place between the guest students and members  of the department, which included the role of the department in providing public sector organizations, the private sector, and civil society organizations with numbers of graduates of the department, in a way that contributes to enhancing the capabilities of the human resources of these organizations, and that is a translation of the vision and mission of the University of Jordan in performing its role in developing and modernizing Jordan, in a way that contributes to achieving sustainable development locally, regionally and globally​

The School of Business at the University of Jordan has won four awards from the Hussein Fund for Creativity and Excellence, launched in collaboration with the Central Bank of Jordan. The awards aim to support and stimulate applied research in the fields of macroeconomics, public finance, financial and banking sector, and economic growth. They also aim to bridge the relationship between economic researchers in Jordanian universities, the Central Bank of Jordan, and decision-making circles. The twelve awards, within the four fields, were distributed among three categories: scientific research, doctoral dissertations, and master's theses.

A total of 128 works competed in various branches, including 74 research papers, 20 doctoral dissertations, and 34 master's theses. The awards  includes: Dr. Sa'eed Al-Khatib, a professor in the Department of Business Economics, and researcher Alaa Al-Khatib won the research award in the field of economic growth for their research titled "Drivers of Global Market Integration: The Case of Jordanian Industries." Researcher Ahmed Khreisat won the Scientific Committee's award for research in the field of cognitive economics for his research titled "The Reality of Knowledge Economy and Its Impact on Economic Growth and Per Capita Income: An Analytical Study on Arab Countries," supervised by Dr. Nahil Saqf Al-Hayt. Researcher Firas Al-Mallah won the award for the doctoral dissertation in the field of public finance for his research titled "Budget Transparency and Governance and Their Impact on Economic and Public Financial Performance," supervised by Dr. Khawla Sbeitane. Researcher Mohammed Al-Rawabdeh won the award for the master's thesis in the field of economic growth for his research titled "Determinants of Growth in the Construction Sector in Jordan," supervised by Professor Nahil Saqf Al-Hayt.

In this regard, Prof. Raed Masadeh, the Dean of the School of Business, congratulated the faculty members and researchers from the Department of Business Economics on their success in winning the awards from the Hussein Fund for Economic Research in its second cycle for the year 2022.

In turn, Dr. Noura Abu Asab, the Head of the Department of Business Economics, congratulated the fellow researchers on their achievements, emphasizing that the department is working to enhance investment in the capabilities and knowledge of academics, increase their efficiency and effectiveness, encourage them to publish in high-level journals and publishing houses, promote scientific citation of their research, develop relationships with external entities supporting scientific research, and exchange global experiences and knowledge with specialists and experts. It should be noted that the award consists of a fund shield, a certificate, and a financial reward, which will be presented to the winners during a special ceremony held within the events of the "Jordanian Economic Day.

Students of the Production and Operations Management course at the School of Business at the University of Jordan participated in a scientific visit to Al-Hikma Pharmaceuticals Factory on Thursday, May 18, 2023. The visit was organized by the course instructor, Dr. Rima Wahid Al-Hasan.

Al-Hikma Pharmaceuticals is one of the leading companies in the pharmaceutical manufacturing field. It was established over 45 years ago in Jordan and is involved in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of a wide range of products in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and throughout the United States. The company has more than 32 factories, 8 research and development centers, and 8,800 employees worldwide. The objective of the visit was to familiarize the students with operations management and quality control in the pharmaceutical industry. It included a tour of Al-Hikma Pharmaceuticals Factory, starting from the stage of manufacturing active pharmaceutical ingredients to the production of tablets, capsules, and concluding with the packaging and pharmaceutical storage stage. The visit also involved discussions on ensuring drug quality and the practices used to meet treatment requirements and patient needs. Furthermore, the students were introduced to determining the effective production capacity of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment to ensure product quality, production speed, and the safety of patients and workers, as well as making the products accessible to those who need them.

The school Dean, Prof Raed Masadeh Bani Yaseen emphasized the importance of organizing scientific visits to various institutions and companies to acquaint students with the practical aspects and to keep up with the demands of the job market.

In her turn, the course instructor and Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance, Dr. Rima Wahid Al Hasan, stated that the visit was very beneficial for the students in terms of both academic and practical aspects. In particular, the field of production and operations management is closely related to practical and applied aspects, as many theories and best practices in this field have emerged from the business world. Therefore, linking the theoretical content of the course to practical aspects enhances the students' learning experience and enriches their knowledge in different areas.

Additionally, the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Nura Musa Al-Louzi, emphasized the importance of continuing the school's approach of organizing purposeful extracurricular activities for its students and encouraging their active participation in various business-related activities to enhance their employment opportunities after graduation.

The visit concluded with an agreement to maintain communication between the School of Business at the University of Jordan and Al-Hikma Pharmaceuticals, and to provide opportunities for collaboration in research and training for the students.

The School of Business at the University of Jordan organized a volunteer campaign to paint the internal sidewalks of the school buildings, aiming to give them an aesthetic touch. The campaign also involved the creation of several murals with expressive artistic drawings depicting the environment of finance and business. The three-day campaign also included cleaning the facilities and buildings of the school from both the inside and outside. The campaign, in which faculty and administrative staff members participated alongside the students at the School of Business, aimed to promote a culture of volunteer work and motivate students to participate in extracurricular activities organized by the school. It also aimed to build the students' character and enhance values of loyalty and belonging to the country, university, and maintaining the cleanliness of its facilities.

The Dean of the school of business, Prof. Raed Masadeh Bani Yaseen emphasized that the school seeks to be a pioneer and distinguished at the local, regional, and international levels in preparing specialized human resources in the fields of finance and business, according to local and international accreditation standards. Furthermore, He expressed his appreciation to the students' for improving the schools' facilities overall appearance stressing the importance of the voluntary work and community service to students and the schools' employees alike.

In turn, the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Nura Musa Al-Louzi, emphasized the school's support for all student initiatives that contribute to preserving the aesthetics and cleanliness of the school, encouraging the students to adopt more of these initiatives to improve and develop the school and university buildings and achieve sustainable development goals.

At the end of the campaign, the dean of the school thanked all the participants for their outstanding efforts, affirming that the school continues its approach of organizing purposeful extracurricular activities for its students and staff. He urged them to participate actively and continuously in such initiatives.

The school of Business hosted Mr. Raed Madanat, the entrepreneurship consultant, to discuss funding and financing of entrepreneurial projects. The seminar covered several topics, including the stages through which emerging entrepreneurial projects go through, encompassing the entire lifecycle of entrepreneurial projects, from idea generation and development to growth and sustainability.

Moreover, Mr. Madanat presented different ways of funding Entrepreneurial business and the criteria for selecting the appropriate funding and financing sources at each stage of the entrepreneurial business.

In turn, the Dean of the school of Business, Prof. Raed Masadeh Bani Yaseen, pointed out the importance of entrepreneurship in economic and social development.  Highlighting the importance of hosting experts from private and public institutions in transferring practical experiences to students and in introducing them to the labor market requirements. And he indicated that the school of Business seminars aim to enhance students' skills and develop their abilities to find and create job opportunities after graduation.And the Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance Affairs, Dr. Rima Wahid Al-Hasan, stated that entrepreneurship and innovation skills have become a basic requirement for students and graduates alike. Emphasizing the opportunities offered by the school and the university for students to network with various institutions that support young entrepreneurs; advising students to take advantage of their time at the university to develop their innovative projects.

At the end, Prof. Raed Masadeh Bani Yaseen thanked the speaker and called for more seminars in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Assistant professor of operations management and innovation and assistant dean for quality assurance affairs at the School of Business, Dr. Rima Al Hasan, participated in the" Leaders Lead On-Demand Quality Controls and Accreditation in Business and Entrepreneurship Academic Programs" exchange program in February 2023.

Funded by the U.S. Department of State and organized by World Learning, the Program is a two-way exchange for professionals from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and the United States who are active in their fields of entrepreneurship and innovation intending to deepen cross-regional connections.

Al Hasan was one of 15 participants selected from the MENA region along with representatives from Lebanon, Qatar, Libya, Palestine, Egypt, Morocco, Tunis, Oman Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Jordan.

This program included intensive interactive training events, experiential and immersion study tours, and at U.S. Universities in different states at the east coast, including Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina,  Florida, and a final segment in Washington, DC.Throughout the program, representatives from U.S. and MENA institutions discussed key focus areas under the entrepreneurship and innovation theme, such as U.S.-MENA partnerships, sustainability, and social impact, linkages between universities' entrepreneurship and innovation programs design and the labor market, and quality controls in business education.

The visit was based on holding several meetings with institutions, representatives from the local community, entrepreneurs, academics, and researchers in the field of innovation and quality management.

The program concluded with a visit to the U.S. state department, where the group discussed plans for sustaining the program and its outcomes. During this visit, the group spoke with leaders from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Education USA, USA Study Abroad, and the U.S. Fulbright Program to discuss opportunities for student exchange, joint research projects, and other common topics of interest.

In turn, Dean of the School of Business, Prof. Dr. Raed Masadeh Bani Yaseen, stressed the importance of academic participation in outstanding international programs for developing the educational and research process at the school, suggesting that these events facilitate academic exchange and opens up opportunities for conducting joint international research.

Al-Hasan indicated that her participation in this exchange program represents a unique opportunity to learn about the US universities' approach to managing entrepreneurship and innovation in their institutions, communicating their social impact and contribution to society, and in maintaining the programs' quality requirements.

She added that the program provides different avenues for collaboration with both the universities in the MENA, and with institutions, universities, and academics in the United States.

As a part of the University of Jordan's strategic and executive plan the School of Business, under the patronage of the Dean of the School, Prof. Dr. Raed Masadeh Bani Yaseen, students at the Services Marketing course presented a series of entrepreneurial projects aimed at addressing issues in the service sector in Jordan. The students, supervised by their instructor Dr. Dana Qaqish, presented a comprehensive project that covered aspects of the course addressing the problems faced by Jordanian citizens in the service sector. The students presented their projects in the presence of the evaluating committee, consisting of Dr. Ghadir Al-Khafash, the General Manager of the Education for Employment Foundation, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Zughoul, the Director and Founder of the Recycling for Education Foundation, in addition to Dr. Qaqish.

The committee members provided the students with guidance to develop their projects and move them to the stage of practical application. In particular, Dr. Khafash directed the students to the importance of promoting themselves through their presence on the LinkedIn platform and the significance of developing their skills. Mr. Al-Zughoul highlighted the importance of taking advantage of the opportunity to present their projects to the committee, enabling them to identify areas that need improvement and start working on them.

In his turn, the dean of the school of business, Prof. Raed Masadeh emphasized the importance of linking theoretical and practical aspects in teaching and the necessity of understanding current market requirements.

Dr. Qaqish stressed the importance of holding such events to encourage students to network with the local community and keep them informed of the developments in the job market through continuous interaction and communication with employers and entrepreneurs.

At the end of the presentation, Dr. Khafash and Mr. Al-Zughoul were honored for their efforts, and the names of the top three projects were announced in the presence of Dean Prof. Raed Bani Yaseen and Dr. Rami Al-Dweiri, the Head of the Marketing Department.
