After his meeting with the President of the University of Jordan, Dr. Khaldoun Tabaza, talks with students of the School of Business

The President of the University of Jordan, Dr. Nathiir Obeidat, met with an alumni, the founder and managing director of iMENA Group, Dr. Khaldoun Tabaza, in the presence of the Director of the International Program, Alumni and Marketing Unit, Dr. Zaid Obeidat, and the Director of the Alumni Office, Dr. Farah Shishan.

During the meeting, Obeidat stressed the need for students to be distinguished by their language skills, and to have determination, will, stamina and patience, in addition to knowledge and science, in order to be able to compete globally, explaining that striving for excellence in the world is what will give them the opportunity to work better in the future.

The two sides also discussed the possibility of activating the frameworks of cooperation between them in the field of training students and arming them with the expertise needed by the labor market. Tabaza expressed his happiness at creating opportunities for cooperation with the university and implementing training programs for students that will enhance their skills and refine their expertise.

In addition, the International Program, Alumni and Marketing Unit organized a session for students of the School of Business with Dr. Khaldoun Tabaza, moderated by Dr. Rami Al-Duwairi, with the aim of achieving the greatest benefit for students from the experiences of university alumni, and shedding light on their scientific and practical experience.

Tabaza talked about the beginning of his studies in medicine school at UJ, and how he then moved from medicine to the world of technology, where he found his passion in the world of computers, where he launched the first online Arabic portal (Arabia.com), which reached 80% of the Arab world views by the end of the 1990s.

Tabaza touched on the stages of development of his practical career, the challenges he faced, and how he overcame these difficulties and obstacles. He advised the students to invest in thinking about the information they receive and learn during their academic life and how they can employ it to decide on their career.

On his part, the Director of the Unit, Dr. Zaid Obeidat, said that the aim of these meetings is to highlight the experiences of distinguished university graduates and present success stories to students in various fields, which should contribute to creating a successful and clear career path.

It should be noted that Tabaza is a Jordanian entrepreneur, investor, and businessman. He is the founder and managing director of iMENA Group, which includes a group of companies such as the open market, Genie application, and others. He is also the founder and CEO of “Zad Capital." He also participated in building “IDEAVELOPERS." "; The first business incubator for emerging companies in Egypt, and he is the founder of the "Arabia.com" website in 1995, which is the first electronic portal in the Arabic language.

Tabaza worked in his early days as an editor in the field of technology and computers in 1994, before he took over the production of the Arabic version of the famous American magazine “Byte", and he was able to establish the Arab Company for Communications and Publishing, which also obtained rights to produce a group of Arabized editions of big-name magazines such as Popular Science. He was selected as one of the young global leaders by the World Economic Forum in 2006, and in 2010 he was chosen as a fellow in the American Kauffman Society's venture capital program. In 2017, he was chosen in the list of the 100 most influential Arab personalities in the world by Arabian Business magazine.
