PhD inBusiness Economics
Program Description :The PhD program in Business Economics, established in 2003, accepts students with Master's degrees from academic backgrounds such as: Economics, Financial Economics, Agricultural Economics, Islamic Economics, Economics of Insurance, Political Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, and Mathematics. Students are required to successfully pass (54) credit hours in order to earn their Doctoral degrees in Business Economics. Credit hours are (21) credit hours as obligatory courses, (15) credit-hours as elective courses, passing specific knowledge efficiency exam, and a successful completion of (18) credit hours thesis. Currently the Department of Business Economics has 660 students enrolled in the undergraduate program, 44 students are enrolled in the Master's program (22 students on the non–thesis track, and 22 students on the thesis track), and 41 students enrolled in the PhD program.
