ٍSchoolo of Business at the University of Jordan received the International Accreditation Certificate (AACSB) for 18 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs it offers. This was announced during the International Conference of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), held at the American University in Cairo from March 6-7 of this year.
With this accreditation, the School of Business at the University of Jordan becomes the first business school in public universities to receive this accreditation.
Dr. Nathir Obeidat, President of the University of Jordan, stated that School of Business receiving the international accreditation (AACSB) represents a significant turning point in the school's history, future, and its direction toward global recognition.
He added that the University’s efforts to obtain international accreditations for its schools are part of its ongoing drive to build more effective partnerships and advance in global rankings. He also pointed out that acquiring international accreditations enables the university’s graduates to compete both locally and globally in the job market.
For his part, Dr. Ra'ed Mosa'dah Bani Yaseen, Dean of the School, stated that the school’s achievement of this international accreditation, after a long journey starting in May 2016, is an international recognition of the excellence of School of Business programs and its prestigious standing at the local, regional, and global levels. School of Business underwent a rigorous evaluation process of its programs and disciplines, including the content of the curricula, the quality of faculty and administrative staff, the extent to which students benefit from available material and human resources, as well as the support provided by the university to develop academic programs, enhance scientific research, and serve the community. The school received international accreditation after meeting all the required international standards, which encompass everything related to the educational, research, and community service processes with the highest levels of quality and excellence. He pointed out that only 5% of business schools worldwide have received this accreditation.
It is worth noting that the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) was established in the United States over a century ago. It is the oldest global accreditation body for business schools and is considered the largest educational network for business management, connecting students, faculty, and labor markets worldwide with the goal of creating a new generation of distinguished leaders.
