The Dean of School of Business, Dr. Ra'ed Masa'deh Bani Yaseen, honored the school's student team from the Finance Department for their participation in the CFA Institute Research Challenge 2024. This competition is organized by the CFA Society Jordan as part of the involvement of students from Jordanian universities.
The team, which included five female students from the Finance Department—Nibal Khattab, Jana Al-Tardi, Farah Matouqa, Nabihah Khattab, and Bayan Joudah—won first place in the competition for their research titled "Valuation of the Stock of the Arab Company for Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines (MBED)." The team was supervised by Dr. Mohammed Tayeh, Head of the Finance Department, and Sohaib Al-Tal from the Arab Potash Company.
The judging panel expressed their admiration for the submitted research in terms of the quality of the information, the comprehensiveness of the topic, and the financial analysis of the company's financial statements, as well as the description of the work.
Bani Yaseen emphasized the importance of student participation in such competitions, which represent a challenge that highlights future leaders in the financial sector and encourages financial graduates to engage in investment research.
For his part, Tayeh highlighted the importance of the competition, which provides practical and intensive training for university students in the field of financial analysis and professional ethics. This is achieved through tests in analytical skills, valuation report writing, and presentation skills, equipping them with hands-on experience in the tasks of financial analysts.
Dr. Hazaar Al-Hamoud, the Assistant Dean for Student and Alumn Affairsi, explained the college's efforts to enable students to continuously excel and ensure a university environment that fosters strong connections with the local, regional, and international communities. She also emphasized the goal of achieving integration and synergy between the educational environment and the practical environment of the job markets.
With this victory, the school team has qualified for the regional stage to compete with students from Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
