Dr. Diana Abughunmi's participation in the Global Economy Advancement Association Conference in the United Kingdom.

​Professor of Financial Economics, Dr. Diana Abughunmi from the School of Business, participated in the 36th Annual Conference of the Social Economy Advancement Association for a dignified and sustainable economic life at the University of Dundee, United Kingdom.


Dr. Abu Ghanem presented a research paper in collaboration with researchers from the University of Dundee, United Kingdom, and the University of Kenyatta, Kenya, titled:​ "Wastewater Treatment Plants from IME and CE Perspectives: the case of Jordan".  In the paper, she highlighted the importance of transitioning the financial sector from the current economic model, the "Linear Economy," to the models of "Islamic Moral Economy" and "Circular Economy" in order to address the challenges of climate change, the depletion of natural resources faced by the world, and how to achieve a sustainable economy.

The conference recommendations included the necessity of benefiting from the results of Dr. Abu Ghanem's paper and working on studying the economic, environmental, and social feasibility of various modern technologies.​

For his part, the Dean of School of Business, Dr. Ra'ed Masa'deh Bani Yaseen, emphasized the importance of the participation of faculty members from the College of Business in international conferences. This participation aims to exchange academic expertise and establish joint research projects, as it has a positive impact on the quality of the educational and research process at the school.​
