The Accounting Department at the Jordanian Business School Organizes an Orientation Day Under the Patronage of the Dean of the Business School, Featuring the President of the Audit Bureau

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Samer Dahiyat, Dean of the Business School, and in the presence of the school's faculty members and a large number of students, the Accounting Department organized an orientation day for new accounting students on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. The Dean welcomed the incoming students, expressing his pleasure at meeting them and reaffirming that they are a key focus of the college's efforts, which are dedicated to enhancing both their academic knowledge and practical skills. He also highlighted the college's achievement of global AACSB accreditation and noted that the university is ranked 368th globally on the QS World University Rankings.


Dr. Omar Mowafi, Head of the Accounting Department, provided an overview of the event, emphasizing that it is an annual tradition within the department. He explained that the orientation day reflects the department's commitment to the development of students’ skills, which are vital in shaping their professional identities and preparing them for the job market. Dr. Batoul Abdeldaim also presented the updated curriculum, outlining significant revisions, particularly in areas related to technology and professional practice within the accounting field.

The event featured presentations by distinguished alumni, including His Excellency Dr. Radi Al-Hamadeen, President of the Audit Bureau, who shared the Bureau's strategic plan and led a discussion on the key skills required by accountants in the modern job market. Additionally, Mr. Ahmad Al-Ajlouni, an expert in auditing and a senior professional at one of the world’s largest auditing firms, spoke about his university experience, the importance of engaging with the curriculum, and the value of obtaining the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification in Jordan. He also provided insights on how students can leverage their university education to enhance their career prospects.

The orientation day concluded with the Dean recognizing and honoring the distinguished guests for their contributions to the event.
