The School of Business wins awards from the Hussein Fund for Economic Research in its second cycle for the year 2022.

The School of Business at the University of Jordan has won four awards from the Hussein Fund for Creativity and Excellence, launched in collaboration with the Central Bank of Jordan. The awards aim to support and stimulate applied research in the fields of macroeconomics, public finance, financial and banking sector, and economic growth. They also aim to bridge the relationship between economic researchers in Jordanian universities, the Central Bank of Jordan, and decision-making circles. The twelve awards, within the four fields, were distributed among three categories: scientific research, doctoral dissertations, and master's theses.

A total of 128 works competed in various branches, including 74 research papers, 20 doctoral dissertations, and 34 master's theses. The awards  includes: Dr. Sa'eed Al-Khatib, a professor in the Department of Business Economics, and researcher Alaa Al-Khatib won the research award in the field of economic growth for their research titled "Drivers of Global Market Integration: The Case of Jordanian Industries." Researcher Ahmed Khreisat won the Scientific Committee's award for research in the field of cognitive economics for his research titled "The Reality of Knowledge Economy and Its Impact on Economic Growth and Per Capita Income: An Analytical Study on Arab Countries," supervised by Dr. Nahil Saqf Al-Hayt. Researcher Firas Al-Mallah won the award for the doctoral dissertation in the field of public finance for his research titled "Budget Transparency and Governance and Their Impact on Economic and Public Financial Performance," supervised by Dr. Khawla Sbeitane. Researcher Mohammed Al-Rawabdeh won the award for the master's thesis in the field of economic growth for his research titled "Determinants of Growth in the Construction Sector in Jordan," supervised by Professor Nahil Saqf Al-Hayt.

In this regard, Prof. Raed Masadeh, the Dean of the School of Business, congratulated the faculty members and researchers from the Department of Business Economics on their success in winning the awards from the Hussein Fund for Economic Research in its second cycle for the year 2022.

In turn, Dr. Noura Abu Asab, the Head of the Department of Business Economics, congratulated the fellow researchers on their achievements, emphasizing that the department is working to enhance investment in the capabilities and knowledge of academics, increase their efficiency and effectiveness, encourage them to publish in high-level journals and publishing houses, promote scientific citation of their research, develop relationships with external entities supporting scientific research, and exchange global experiences and knowledge with specialists and experts. It should be noted that the award consists of a fund shield, a certificate, and a financial reward, which will be presented to the winners during a special ceremony held within the events of the "Jordanian Economic Day.
