A Scientific Day for the Public Administration Department


Under the patronage of the Dean of the Business school, Prof. Raed Masaada Bani Yassin, the Department of Public Administration organized a scientific day for the department students. The dean of the school welcomed the students, expressing his happiness to meet them and that they are the focus of the school`s attention and the university as well, which seeks to raise the quality of educational, research and training methods in line with the requirements of the local, regional and global labor market. The dean also urged the students to use their time in curricular and extracurricular activities through what is provided by the faculty and administrative units at the University of Jordan such as the International Affairs Unit, the Library Unit, the Leadership and Innovation Center, the Community Service Center, the Deanship of Student Affairs and many others. In his turn, the head of the Department of Public Administration, Dr. Abdul Hakim Akhu-Rsheida, gave a briefing on the specialization of public administration, its importance and areas, and an indication of the role and importance of the training and counseling aspect in university life because of its impact on raising the academic achievement of students and empowering them in practical aspects. A group of the department faculty members also provided many important tips and instructions for the students.

The scientific day also included hosting graduates from the Department of Public Administration who gave many advices to students by focusing on curricular and extracurricular activities and volunteering work. Dr. Abdullah Obeidat from the Institute of Public Administration talked about the importance of the university in all its aspects in the life of a university student because of its role in preparing students for practical life. He also talked about the establishment of the Institute of Public Administration and the institute's success in keeping pace with technological developments and covering the needs of the labor market in terms of training courses.

At the end, the Dean of the Business School thanked all those in charge of organizing the scientific day, looking forward to more meaningful activities and events that serve students to develop their skills and scientific and research capabilities at the local and global levels.
