UJ Signs MoU with ACCA

The University of Jordan (UJ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) to develop cooperation according to the mutual interest of both two parties.

The MoU, which was signed by UJ president Prof. Abdel-Karim Al-Qudah and Head of ACCA Middle East Fazeela Gopalani, aims at establishing a framework for mutual cooperation between the two parties.

According to the MoU, ACCA will facilitate a route for graduates of Business, Accounting and Finance at UJ to study the ACCA Qualification.

Al Qudah pointed out that the memorandum will mark the beginning of an effective cooperation between the UJ and the internationally recognized association.

Dean of the School of Business Dr. Fayez Haddad said that the signing of the MoU comes within the School's strategy to strengthen its relations with international professional bodies in order to open up opportunities for its graduates at the international level.

In turn, Chairman of the Accounting Department, Dr. Hamza al-Mawali, said that under the memorandum, ACCA will exempt graduates of the accounting program at the university from 9 exams out of 13 held by the association to obtain the ACCA qualification.

The collaboration will also include joint workshops, conferences, common research projects, and publications as well as the exchange of information and academic materials.
